Bungwahl

I wrote this when we were living at smiths Lake. I sent it to the Songwriters Association for a critique assessment to get a positive feedback. The sheet had gone missing but it is on their files. I sent this to the ABC Your town your song competition in later years. I've never performed it but you can feel it!

IN BUNGWAHL (THERE”S A BUSH BAND PLAYING)

At Bungwahl there's a bush band playing

Songs that get you up and dancin'

On a tongue and grooved floor

Built during the First World War

At Bungwahl there's a bushband playing

At Bungwahl there's a banjo playing

Tunes to get you up and dancin'

They'll send some folk up the wall

With bare feet boots and all

I like punch it gets you singin'

At Bungwahl there's a bush band playing

Man! You should see the dancin'

With a fiddler on the straw

A golf Club watch out fore

It's a nice time to go skinny dippin'

At Seal Rocks they love surfing

Near Bungwahl where there's dancin'

To a beat one two three four

Let’s chuck the piss pots out the door

The kookaburra laughs at our stompin'

At Bungwahl there's a squeeze box playin'

Find a partner and start dancin'

What a night to have a ball

With buffet and a tasty boar

And the cost will be just a farthing

So at Bungwahl there’s a bush band playin'

Songs that get you up and dancin'

Packed them in wall to wall

What about a loud encore

Till midnight lets hope no one's sleepin'

Yeah ha (Ron Beswick 2006)
