ANZAC Day 2021

Today is ANZAC day which for me is a day of mourning. It began with an event that happened at Gallipoli when Winston Churchill was in charge. More than 11,000 died at the battle and many more died in the war.

We now commemorate this day and talk about various battlefields and conflicts. People can have different opinions about the day which is a public holiday in Australia.

Both my folks had stories to tell about the fear of war. My mother was living in a ship building town in Scotland when my father was in combat. That might explain why I’m a pacifist!
